Terms of use
Draft — pending legal review
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and {{LEGAL_ENTITY}}, operating as Hirehood (“Hirehood”, “we”), 1356 Pembroke St W, Pembroke, ON. By using Hirehood you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy and fraud policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
For job seekers
- Hirehood is free for job seekers. No employer may ask you to pay to apply or to get a job.
- Give true information when you apply. Your application goes only to the employer you choose.
- Hirehood isn’t the employer. We don’t promise that any job is still open, that you’ll be hired, or what an employer will decide. Hiring decisions are the employer’s alone.
- Some jobs are collected from public sources (such as Job Bank or an employer’s own careers page) and say where they came from. For those, you apply on the employer’s site, under that site’s terms.
For employers
What you can post
- Real, current jobs at your own business, in the area we serve, with the pay or pay range shown.
- Postings that follow Ontario law, including the Employment Standards Act (for example, minimum wage and the 2026 job posting rules for employers with 25 or more staff) and the Human Rights Code.
- No fees, deposits, training charges, “starter kits” or purchases asked of applicants — ever. No requirement for “Canadian experience”.
- No misleading titles, pay or locations, no duplicate postings of the same job, and no recruiting for another business without saying so.
Using applications
Applications are shared with you only to hire for the job they were sent to. Don’t use applicants’ details for anything else — including marketing — and don’t share them outside the people at your company doing the hiring. Keep them safe and delete them when you no longer need them.
Hirehood deletes applications, resumes, and your notes and messages about them about 3 years after each application is sent. Hirehood isn’t your record-keeping system: if Ontario’s rules require you to keep job postings and applications (for example, employers with 25 or more employees must keep them for 3 years after a posting comes down), keep your own copies.
What we do with your postings
You let us show your jobs and company profile on Hirehood, include them in search results, town and category pages and job-alert emails, and add the information search engines such as Google read so the job can appear in their job search (whether it does is up to them). We may fix obvious mistakes and keep a copy after a job closes. If you use “Write it for me”, check the draft: you’re responsible for everything you post.
Reviews and removals
Our team reviews new employers’ first jobs and any job that is reported or flagged. A job reported by several different people may be taken off the site automatically until we have reviewed it. We may edit obvious mistakes, hold a job for review, or remove jobs or accounts that break these terms or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent, without notice. If you think we got it wrong, email hello@hirehood.ca.
Listings and payments
- Every listing runs for 30 days. In its first 30 days, a company may have one free job live at a time; after that, listings are paid.
- Paid listings (Basic, Standard and Featured) are single purchases for one job’s 30-day listing — not subscriptions. A company may have up to 10 Standard listings at a time. Featured placement lasts 14 days. Prices are in Canadian dollars; any HST is shown at checkout before you pay.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Your receipt is in your Hirehood account.
- Any promotion code comes with its own terms, shown where we offer it.
- Closing a job early doesn’t earn a refund. If we remove a paid job because it breaks these terms, it isn’t refunded. If something goes wrong on our side, contact us and we’ll make it right, which may include a refund.
Jobs we collect from public sources
To help people see every local job in one place, we list public job postings from approved sources and link to the original. We write our own short summary, always say where the job came from, and never mark these jobs up for Google’s job search. Employers can claim a listing to manage it on Hirehood, or ask us to stop listing their jobs by emailing hello@hirehood.ca.
Closing your account
To close your company account, email hello@hirehood.ca from the account owner’s address. Your jobs come down and your team loses access. We keep payment records and our record of actions taken for as long as our privacy policy says.
Using the site fairly
- Don’t scrape, copy in bulk, or overload the site, or try to get around our spam protection.
- Don’t republish our job listings on another job site, app or feed without our written permission. Search engines and AI assistants may index, summarize and link to them.
- Don’t post or send anything unlawful, hateful, harassing or misleading.
- Don’t pretend to be someone else or a business you don’t represent.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep Hirehood accurate and safe, but the site is provided “as is”. Job postings are written by employers or come from public sources, and we can’t guarantee every detail. To the extent the law allows, Hirehood isn’t liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by an employer, an applicant or another site we link to. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page; important changes for employers will also be emailed to account owners.
